Deira food guide: dishes in Al Rigga, Muraqqabat and beyond
A mixed grill, chicken mandi, an Ethiopian stew or a Filipino dish can each be the starting point for a Deira meal. Choose the food and subarea together: Al Rigga, Al Muraqqabat, Abu Hail and Port Saeed are separate destinations. Then add a sweet finish if you have room.
Al Safadi’s grill and Bait Al Mandi’s chicken-and-rice order are different main meals. Compare those with foul, coconut-cooked jackfruit or an eggplant salad according to the order you want. Doro wot and menu-named fasting shiro require their own ingredient and portion checks; the word fasting is not our dietary guarantee. Maamoul or rice pudding can be a separate sweet finish.
Check the subarea before combining stops
Use each exact branch map: an Al Rigga meal is not automatically close to an Abu Hail stew or a Port Saeed shrimp stop. Choose one main destination and consider how much food the order includes. Related Hunts may leave Deira, including an Ethiopian route continuing to Karama. Read the full stop list and transport notes before following one.
THE SHORTLIST
Compare the dishes and branches
Choose a dish that fits your visit. Check its exact branch before planning your stops.
Mixed grill is the sharing order at Al Safadi on Al Rigga Road. Ask which meats and accompaniments are in the current platter, then choose its size for your group. This is a main meal; consider that portion before adding mezze or another grill.
Chicken mandi pairs chicken with rice at Bait Al Mandi in Al Muraqqabat. Specify chicken mandi when ordering and check the chicken portion and included accompaniments. It works as a shared main; extra rice or bread may be unnecessary once you see the plate.
Rice pudding with milk is a separately listed dessert at Erbil’s Al Muraqqabat branch. Ask for that menu item rather than a mixed sweet platter. Confirm the serving size and current toppings if you want a modest dessert or plan to share.
Unripe jackfruit is cooked with coconut milk and spices. Ask about the full preparation and accompaniments; a jackfruit dish does not by itself establish that the meal is vegan.
Choose the pistachio maamoul sold by the piece. Check that individual pistachio maamoul are available at the Deira counter before choosing a larger box.
Ground chickpeas give this stew its substance. Ask whether injera comes with the shiro and check the full preparation if the menu's “Fasting” label affects your choice.
Doro wot combines chicken, Ethiopian chilli sauce and butter. Ask about the chilli level, chicken portion and included injera before choosing this as your meal.

Ensaladang talong is ChicBoy’s grilled-eggplant salad. The brand describes tomato, onion and a tangy dressing. Confirm this branch's preparation when ordering.

The operator describes Cajun shrimp sautéed with a sweet-and-spicy blend. Ask about the shrimp portion, heat level and rice charges before choosing your meal.

Share Al Safadi's mixed grill and Bait Al Mandi's chicken mandi before rice pudding at Erbil. Al Rigga and Al Muraqqabat make this a two-main outing best shared.
